Some other people tried to contact a Japanese game developer (from the Bayonetta team) to get his thoughts on GamerGate. He said he wasn't interested. They kept pestering him to the point where anyone who mentioned GG to him got blocked. He had such apathy. It was beautiful. Please tell me it was the mighty kamiya himself, makes me imagine some gamergate worm crawl up to a proper boss like him going "please mr kamiya validate my bullshit crusade by telling me im totally right" just to get backhanded by gamings mightyest pimp hand. |

@kav, I just saw that referred to. Not only is it telling women how to behave, it's packing some serious assumptions about people asking for change into those two panels.
I've been told that since 4chan mass-deleted the topic gaters have moved on to a site called 8chan, and have claimed the admin of 4chan, moot, in an SJW. Which is hilarious.

And even then, there were also widely-circulated theories that m00t's girlfriend (apparently a journalist) has been the one pulling the strings behind 4chan as the "corruption in journalism" was affecting her cred, as, well... probably a journalist not remotely involved with games. Remember folks, every time a man does something you don't like, it was probably because of a woman! Women, AMIRITE?

Viewtiful Joe is indeed awesome, although I preferred Okami out of Clover's games. What are you guys thoughts on dealing with art from people you wind up disagreeing with violently? I really have enjoyed Prequel the webcomic, but then I find out the author has written this stuff.

I guess I can tell you as someone who's grown up with people I admire saying things that alienate me with their viewpoints that yeah, it's important to separate the work from the person. And even to separate the work from the problematic elements within the work. If I didn't do those things I wouldn't really be able to enjoy ANYthing. :B

So uh, I've spent too much time arguing with a GGer with one follower today, and the debate has gotten to the point where he is now trying to say I only care about death threats when they occur against women. By pointing out all these other times gamers posted death threats for no reason. How is this helping him?

Yes! I tried to check out 8chan to see what people were saying about it, but it was down. Then when I checked the GG tag, people were going on about how it's "suspicious" that they both went down around the same time. Couldn't have been due to increased traffic to 8chan after Github banned them, nuh uh.

I've calmed a bit, but dear god. These people are awful, they're biggots who can't openly hate someone because of their skin and have decided to turn their hatred towards the other gender and we do nothing to stop them. We sit here and complain but no one stops them, no one roots them out and punishes them for hate speech (which is illegal in canada). They need to understand that actions, even words have consequences.

At the end of the day they are just a bunch of morons on twitter, lets not forget that. We can't stop them from voicing theyr inane bs but they have by and large already lost the battle they think they are fighting. Noone who wields any sort of influence or respect in the games buisness considers them anything more then a momentary nuisance. They are at best considered a jumping of point to talk about the issues they use to mask theyr paranoid entitlement as legitimate criticism. They constandly try to have influential or popular figures validate them and theyr idiotic crusade against... a bunch of people with videogame related blogs, unfortunately for them it isn't working out and the best they can come up with is adam baldwin, that milo dude and the internet aristocrat. Lastly they will achieve nothing but to turn more and more people against them, get bored and then start playing call of duty again like the good little drones they are.
