Kav P There is my group's store technically, which doesn't have everything, but does have a free download available. Our physical inventory is set up between the five of us, so I can't say we have much of a centralized stock. Depending on the size of your playgroup our upcoming games may suit you better, since the one that's up there is for 2 or 4 players, whereas the one we plan to launch the Kickstarter for next year is 2–5 recommended (max 8 although it's slow). We've got a couple others in the hopper that are looking like the 2–5 range as well. mrnarse I love both board and video games, but I agree that board games really need a play group. That said, I have played a couple solo games that exist out there. I think my interest is because my parents were the kind of folks who had years long D&D campaigns. niko Ooh, old games we made? I think I found one from age 12 or so when I was in scouts and amusing friends at camp: I also had a card game that was a blatant rip-off of both Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh, but the cards I found were all water damaged.

Is there any kind of RPG-Maker type of software that's just for making digital versions of board games? That would be a cool way to play board games with anyone around the world. Maybe with video chat built into the software as well. If that doesn't exist, someone feel free to make that software and give me a cut of the profits

Interesting. My older brother and some of his friends were into board games like Axis & Allies, but those war games always seemed to be super complex so I never tried to learn them.
That article mentions some other board game programs like ZunTzu. It looks like that program tried to add audio and video chat, but I don't know if it's being regularly updated.
Now I've got a hankering to play an old Sierra strategy game like "Robert E. Lee: Civil War General" or "Rise and Rule of Ancient Empires".

A friend of mine made a VASSAL version of the board game "Mage Knights". I've not tried using it yet, but it might be a good way to play games!

My group and I have actually run games just over Google Hangouts and using spreadsheets/drawings to make boards and pieces. I've heard Roll20 is good though.

Yeah, I used Roll20 to run a roleplaying campaign with friends living in another part of Japan. It was a little buggy, but I'm sure they've improved on it enough now that it's worth using!

Hi! I'm a long-time BAD lurker / occasional commenter whose respect for Kav's participation there in [HASH]morongate lead me here. I'll come back later when I'm not at work and have a proper look around. Congrats on kicking this off.

Welcome, tanner! Kav has been killin it on twitter and on BAD!
Just to let everyone know, if you'd prefer not to have your gender listed under your username, you can go into your profile and click "Edit Profile". In there you can go to the privacy tab and turn off Gender Visibility. I wish this forum platform would let you choose to hide it when making your account, but this is a workaround, at least.

Hi all. I'm Kheesz, you may remember me from such BAD threads as "Video Games, Misogyny, And Terrorism: A Guide To Assholes" or "Why I Feel Bad For - And Understand - The Angry [HASH]GamerGate Gamers." I'm terrible with names, I genuinely don't know why I chose that. I don't even know how you pronounce it.
I've been a regular reader of Devin since his days on CHUD, and have been visitng BAD from it's inception. I'm not really a big internet commenter, but the GG threads were a great outlet for a number of reasons. I have a lot more to say on the subject but I'll leave them in the GG thread.
Obviously I'm interested in all forms of media. My first love is still film, I can't single out one as my all time favorite, but 3 of my favorite movies from the past 10 years are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Children of Men, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I'm one of those boring people who thinks The Wire is best TV drama ever, though The Simpsons is something that is ingrained in me since I was a kid that I can make references to it every day.
I've been playing games since I was very young, though I kind fell out with them until early last year. I basically crammed a whole generation of games into a period of less than a year. I'm one of those people destroying gaming because Gone Home was my favorite game last year and it made me cry. I'm not anti-AAA but I find that a lot them just aren't my thing, especially the ones from this year. The Last of Us was easily my favorite AAA release last year but I found that indie games like Gone Home, Papers Please, Brothers, The Stanley Parable etc were really what I wanted to search out and play. Others from the same generation that I really liked were the Souls and Arkham games.
My musical tastes are all over the map but I end up discovering stuff at my own pace rather than what is the big thing, even if I end up really liking them. I've been political long before I could vote (I distinctly remember my absolute disgust towards abstinence only sex-ed when I was 13-14. It was flat out lies and conservative morality being taught that just perpetuates a cycle of ignorance that has actually increased what they're trying to stop), I read really long books and take way too long to do it, and I try to write but I still have a lot of blocks that I have overcome.
My turn offs are people who say "Just shut your brain off and have fun", internet sea lions and other similar groups with what I call "Umm, actually"-itis, and people whose mantra is "Both sides do it."
So yeah I'll warp this up, I ramble on sometimes. I have a more to the point though a probably still long post to make in the GG thread. I'm off to start writing it!

Welcome, Kheesz (it sounds like "keys" in my mind)! I hope you enjoy this little Ellie-world we have. It's a nice little haven where we can let out some long-form thoughts in between the twittering.
Children of Men is great. I'm astounded by the technical genius in Children of Men each time I see it.
I saw Jesse James not too long ago, and all I can say is that Casey Affleck could get a lifetime achievement award just for that role.

Hello! I'm also one of the boring people who think The Wire is the best TV show and I like indie games and also dual-wielding giant clubs in Dark Souls 2.

A later hello than most. I am now ashamed at having not seen the Wire as of yet, despite being told more than once that it is the best TV show and I need to watch it.

Hi, my name is Dwayne Dibbley, you may also know me on BAD as "Keosegg". The name "Keosegg" was just a nonsense word I made up when I was fifteen and I've kept it as a moniker mainly because it's relatively unlikely that anyone else has it.
I've been with BAD for a few years now, but only started commenting like two years ago.
My greatest goal in life is to be the prettiest motherfucker alive.
My second greatest goal in life is to be a slam poet.
My favourite word is "numpty".
The kinds of music I listen to is pretty eclectic. For nearly three years I listened to nothing but Metal and only now am I getting back into the world of Pop. Almost immediately after getting back into Pop, I discovered my unhealthy obsession for Taylor Swift.
Befitting a poet, I've also been listening to a lot of Hip-Hop.
My favourite types of movies are usually the weird Yugoslavian Arthouse movies, followed by giant robot movies.
My favourite books are also very weird. As it stands, my favourite book (Seizure by Erica Wagner) is a wordy, pretentious, histrionic mess that involves selkies, pirates and incest.
I've been gaming most of my life and I considered myself a Gamer up until recently. You probably know why this has changed.
I usually play a series of five games on rotation. Skyrim, the Dragon Ages, the Fallouts and the Mass Effects. I sometimes shake up the routine by playing an Indie game, but it's not often.
That's basically me in a nutshell.

Welcome Dwayne, hope you enjoy your time here. I've enjoyed slam poetry when exposed, though my favorite (mainly for personal reasons) might be “My Southern Heritage” by Jason Carney.
And what is it with you folks being all worldly? It's like being well-rounded was an actual goal for the BAD commentariat and it's honestly a little intimidating.

Hello. I'm Luci_Fer on disqus, Lucika on the guardian and other places, and other obscure nom de plumes on twitter and steam! (I have hobbit feet on twitter, hi Kav) It's more habit than paranoia to keep separate usernames but it's stuck tbh So yes, hello. I (like some others) felt fairly cheered by the unusual amount of fun and reasonableness on the BAD comment threads (aside from the doxxings, obvs) so here I am. All hail the Ellie, etc.
